Experience summer in Rossland, BC.
Rossland, BC is Mother Nature’s playground 365 days a year, and Summer is when your spirit of adventure can come out in full bloom. Offering warm, sunny months of world-class mountain biking, hiking, golfing, fishing and so much more, Summer begins at The Josie’s front door. If you want to work up a sweat playing disc golf, The Josie’s got you covered. And if you want to work on your tan on the patio, she can offer that, too. Josie doesn’t judge.
With two hundred kilometres of professionally maintained mountain bike trails, from white knuckle downhill tracks to cross country singletrack to simple, gentle forest trails for the uninitiated, Rossland’s long legacy of mountain biking delivers the dirt.
Hiking & Trail Running
Walking, hiking, trail running…call it what you want. Josie calls it fun. In every direction, on every peak, there are trails to take you up and into the alpine of the famed Kootenays.
Welcome to skinny tire heaven. Our roads less travelled lead riders through a Kootenays terrain more reminiscent of the Tour de France than most destinations. Long winding roads, grueling climbs and hair-raising descents are all accessible; so are chill pedals through the stunning landscapes.
Canada’s alpine golf courses are some of the most gorgeous greens to play in the world. With Redstone Resort a short five-minute drive from Josie’s backyard, one of the Kootenay’s most beautiful courses is literally right around the corner. Featuring unique rocky ravines, creeks, ponds and white bunkers, it’s truly the Monsahee backdrops that shine brightest at Redstone.
2018 Rates: 18 holes $69 (+tax) (twilight available)
Season: May through October
FishingBetween fly fishing and lake fishing, the West Kootenays are on another level when it comes to angling. Known worldwide for crystal clear water and healthy fish, the rivers and lakes within striking distance of Rossland offer more options than one will ever be able to tackle in one trip alone.
Disc GolfCall it a frisbee if you want, as long as you’re having fun. Eighteen holes of quality Kootenay disc golf course awaits both first timers and those holding membership in the cult of the tomahawk throw. Open May to the end of October. Located at Black Jack Nordic Centre.
