Unearth Rossland’s most precious adventures with a three-day escapade designed to exhilarate your soul. With its rugged, natural beauty to its small-town charm, quirkiness and culinary delights, this adventurous mountain town is as previous as the gold that beckoned miners to Rossland.
Day 1
Morning: Mountain bike when it’s still cool; the Monticola/Larch Ridge trails are two of our favourites! Josie’s tip: sample some of nature’s finest huckleberry bushes. Don’t forget to leave plenty for the bears.
Afternoon: Head to Nancy Green Lake with its large, white sandy beach and refreshing alpine water.
Evening: Celebrate the day as the sun sets mountainside on the patio at The Velvet. Ask for Josie’s recommendation as you work your way through the cocktail menu and enjoy the region’s flavours.
Day 2
Morning: Spend the morning enjoying the golf course at Redstone, or the disc golf course at BlackJack.
Afternoon: Head into Rossland to pick up supplies for a hike up Kootenay Columbia (KC). Here on Wed – Fri? Stop by Hooper’s for a pain au chocolate or a freshly baked baguette to enjoy with some gourmet cheese from Ferraro Foods. Mountain Nugget Chocolate can hook you up with some locally made treats to enjoy après hike.
Evening: Hike back down and walk into Rossland to enjoy a cold, refreshing locally crafted beer at the infamous watering hole, Rossland Beer Company. Grab some dinner from one of the local restaurants and then head over to the Miners Hall (July & August) for the 7:30pm Gold Fever Follies Show (Tues. – Sat.).
Day 3
Spend the day doing what you love; mountain biking, hiking, walking the trails, or whatever your heart desires. If you’re heading home this afternoon, you’ll want to do something special before you head out; may we suggest a hike up RedHead to Poochies Cabin? Or, enjoy a leisurely departure and then head to the Slocan, where Endless Adventure can hook you up with a shuttle and equipment to enjoy floating down the Slocan River.
